Restrict the certain items from appearing in the Mac Spotlight

  • The first step is open the Systems Preferences from the Launchpad and after that click on the “Spotlight” icon.
  • The next step is to find the list of things under the “Search Result” which appear in the Spotlight search.
  • The third and last step is to uncheck the items which you don’t want the show more in your Spotlight search result.

Hiding items which are stored in the specific folders from the Spotlight

In order to restricting the items which you don’t want to show on you search result; you can prevent the items which are stored in the certain folders and showing up in the spotlight. In fact it is helpful when you want that the documents which are appear in the Spotlight and restricting the selected one which you consider the sensitive.

To get access to restrict the specific folders then click on the “Privacy” tab at the top and then hit on the “Plus” button. After that click on the folder and then simply hit on the “Choose” button.

You are also able to add many folders to the list which you want to show by simply click the “Plus” button repeatedly.
